Where is HEAD – Genève?
HEAD – Genève’s new campus is located in the heart of the city of Geneva and includes three prestigious industrial buildings in the Charmilles district as well as the historic building of the School of Industrial Arts next to the Cornavin railway station.
What does HEAD mean?
HEAD stands for Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design (Univerity of Art and Design)
Where should I apply for financial help?
Swiss nationals: contact the Office for scholarships in your canton of residence. Details are available on the HEAD website, under the “For students” tab.
Other nationalities: the Social and Finance Service of the University of Geneva can issue scholarships upon validation of 60 ECTS credits in a Swiss university.
Are internships required during studies at HEAD?
Yes, BAs in Fashion Design and Product Design/Jewellery and Accessory include a mandatory internship, during the second year. In BA Cinema, a mandatory internship is included in the third year. In MAs in Fashion and Accessory Design, Space and Communication and Media Design, the study plans include the possibility of a summer internship (not mandatory) between the first and second year.
How much is the tuition fee?
Tuition fees cost CHF 500 per semester. A further CHF 75 administrative fee must be added.
Can I be exempt from tuition fees?
Unfortunately, no exemption can be granted.
What is the cost of studies?
Tuition fee and educational fee: CHF 575 per semester. Course material, tools and study trips: approximately CHF 1,000 to 2,000 per year.
What language level is required?
At BA level, the majority of lessons are given in French and a good grasp of the language is required, even if some teachers are willing to interact in English orally or in writing.
At MA level, lessons are given in French and in English and students must have a good grasp of both languages. Students can then choose to express themselves in either English or French, orally and in writing.
